"Two excellent songs which will appeal to a wide range of music fans because of the combination of styles. If this barely eight minute acquaintance will result in a first full-length release of the same high level, then we predict a bright future for Syrenomelia. If it depends on us, you will often hear this name in the future."

The title track ‘A Rose Shattered’ is about a toxic relationship between a mother and her daughter, portrayed via poetic reflections on psychological torture, insanity, self-harm and loose morals.
‘Like The World Outside’ is about the horrible things children are capable of. The phrase “the creature they made” refers to an autobiographical memory of boys cutting a dead rat to pieces and “reassembling” it as an alien creature.
